My sweet (and hilarious) co-worker had on a gorge necklace yesterday. I complimented her on it and she said “It’s a two-fer!”
A what? A two-fer?
Turns out it came as part of an outfit and it’s detachable so she can wear it with other outfits too.
Two different outfits for the price of one! Sweet!
So it’s her “two-fer”.
Oh, of course! A two-fer!!!
We had a nice laugh about it.
But she has a good point. Two-fers are always great! Right?!
This gave me an idea! 💡
What about a three-fer?!
So just for you, here are 3 things that are rocking my world right now!
They will rock yours too!
1) Still in love with my davines OI All In One Hair Milk.
Gals this is a game changer!
Even Ashley thinks it’s amazing. She tried it and went gaga!
She said, “Mom I want you to order one for me right away! It made my hair so soft!”
(And since when do 11 year olds notice things like that??) Just sayin’!
2) Listening to The Power of Habit by Charles Duhigg on Audible.
This book is absolutely captivating! Pure genius.
Sooo much good info it’s almost too much to take in.
Charles draws you in with countless mindboggling true stories from people of all different walks of life from a typical mother/housewife who develops a life-ruining gambling addiction to a sleepwalker who murdered his own wife without even knowing it. (This story is ❤ wrenching.)
The science he shares behind how we develop and how we can change habits is fascinating!
It’s roughly a 14 hour listen but I already plan on listening to it a second time. It’s that good!
3) Weight training.
Although I haven’t lost all the weight that I want to yet, weight training is quickly working it’s magic.
After only 2 months back in the game I feel stronger and the muscle definition is slowly starting to show again.
Yay! (And thank goodness for muscle memory!!!)
The shape of my body is changing daily right before my eyes.
Makes me wonder why I ever took a 4 month break. (Something I do NOT recommend doing.)
Now don’t get me wrong.
I’m not saying weight training is easy.
Oh contraire! I’m just saying it’s worth it!
Honestly it’s excruciatingly tough for me.
I dread going to gym and every day my mind races with all the excuses of why I should call my trainer and cancel our workout. (perfect example of why we should workout with a buddy)
But I’ve been pushing through it and once I get to the gym I actually do like it.
I bet you’re probably a lot like me.
The toughest part is all mental.
Psyching yourself up to do it.
Sticking to your plan.
Making it a regular part of your daily routine.
Just like Charles explains in the The Power of Habit, once you develop the habit it gets easier and easier. And the rewards are definitely worth it…
Nothing beats that endorphin rush after a good workout.
Cardio is great too of course, but if you want to really change your body shape weight training is where it’s at!
